Shirohie millet is a selection from Japanese millet with a slightly longer growing season and higher yield. These are 'Echinochloa' millets and should not be confused with Pennisetum millet which is a tropical species, not suited to Victorian climates. Shirohie millet is a fast-growing, high yielding, leafy plant for either grazing, hay or silage.
